Apply for Danish state pension (MitID)

Here you can apply for state pension and possibly foreign pension. You can apply for state pension no earlier than 6 months before you are entitled to state pension. You are entitled to state pension from the 1st of the month after you reach state pension age at the earliest.

Please note that if you already receive either disability pension or senior pension, you do not need to apply for state pension, as your pension changes automatically.

It is only possible to use this self-service solution to apply for state pension if you have a residential address in Denmark.

It is recommended that you have the following ready:
  • MitID
  • Your future expected incomes
  • Your eventual cohabitant's income
  • Overview of one-off payments, e.g. severance pay
  • Statement of interest income and similar items
  • Any documentation and information about stays or work abroad

How to

  • Click 'Start'
  • Log in with MitID (a Danish digital signature)
  • Select 'Apply for or defer state pension'
  • Follow the steps and fill in the appropiate fields
Please note that Udbetaling Danmark has only received your application when the receipt page is showed.
