The Swedish authorities have ceased requirements for ID checks when people travel from Denmark to Sweden by train, bus and ferry.
Still, you cannot enter Sweden without valid photo ID due to increased border control in Sweden. This also applies to pendlers between Denmark and Sweden.

As photo ID you may use a passport, a driving licence or other similar photo ID, such as a national ID card. It is a requirement of all types of valid photo ID that it must be officially produced with a view to establishing the identity of the holder and that it must contain the following information:

  • a photo of the holder
  • information about the holder’s full name
  • civil or date of birth
  • serial number
  • the holder’s signature
  • information about the photo ID’s period of validity
  • information about the issuing authority.
