The Motor Vehicle Securities Register only shows debts secured by a mortgage on the vehicle and whether it is subject to retention of title.
The Motor Vehicle Securities Register is not a register of owners, meaning that you can only retrieve data on the car if it is or has been subject to security interests.
Look up a car registered in Denmark in the Motor Vehicle Securities Register
You access the Motor Vehicle Securities Register at the website www.tinglysning.dk. Use the vehicle identification number (VIN) or information about a debtor, if any, to search for cars registered in Denmark that are subject to a mortgage or a registered retention of title.
The Motor Vehicle Securities Register is not a register of owners, meaning that you can only retrieve data on the car if it is or has been subject to security interests.

You need the Danish digital eID, MitID, to register security interests in the Motor Vehicle Securities Register. You create and apply for registration of the security instrument at www.tinglysning.dk.

What does it cost to register a security interest or retention of title in the Motor Vehicle Securities Register?
You will be charged a registration fee in accordance with the Danish Registration Fee Act.

Appeals
You can appeal the Registration Court’s decisions on the registration or rejection of documents sought registered in the Motor Vehicle Securities Register to the Danish Western High Court within a time limit of 2 weeks.
