If you are or previously have been a resident in Denmark, you can request an international certificate of criminal record. The certificate is often used in relation to recruitment processes when applying for a job.

  • If you have no registered convictions in Denmark, the certificate can be issued in English, German, French and Spanish.
  • If you do have convictions, the certificate will only be issued in Danish. In case you need the certificate in another language, you will need to get a translation by a certified translation agency at your own expense.

In order to issue the certificate, the Danish Police need the following 3 things from you:

  • A written and signed request (there are no specific form requirements)
  • A copy/photo of your valid passport
  • The postal address where to send the certificate.

You can send the documents and information either by email, by letter or if you have MitID:

By email

  • mvjyl-pac-kr@politi.dk

By letter

Midt- og Vestjyllands Politi
Politiets Administrative Center

If you have MitID

If you have MitID you can request the certificate of criminal record online – but please note that the online form is on Danish.

The processing is up to 5 working days from the time we have received all the required information.

Your certificate will be sent by regular postal service and without tracking.

Due to differences in postal delivery services, we are not able to specify when you will receive your certificate.

We cannot send the certificate by email.
