Access the digital Motor Vehicle Securities Register

You can access the Motor Vehicle Securities Register (in Danish: Bilbogen) at www.tinglysning.dk. Use the vehicle identification number (VIN) or information about a debtor, if any, to search for cars registered in Denmark that are subject to a mortgage or a registered retention of title.

How to

Access tinglysning.dk. You now have 3 options: 

  1. Forespørg uden log ind (Enquire without login): Allows you to view summary information in the Motor Vehicle Securities Register. Choose ‘Køretøjer’ (Vehicles) to enquire in vehicles. You can search via 'Stelnummer' (VIN number), 'CVR' (VAT number) or name and birthday.
  2. Forespørg med log ind (Enquire with login): Gives you access to all information in the Motor Vehicle Securities Register and to order motor vehicle securities certificates. Choose ‘Køretøjer’ (Vehicles) to enquire in vehicles. You can search via 'Stelnummer' (VIN number), 'CVR' (VAT number) or name and birthday. 
  3. Tinglysning mv. (Registration in Motor Vehicle Securities Register): If you need to create or sign a document etc. you can log in here.
