Send life certificate - with MitID

As a pensioner living abroad, you must confirm that you are alive every year. You do this by submitting a life certificate. You only need to submit a life certificate when Udbetaling Danmark requests it in a letter.

If you have MitID and are registered for Digital Post, you will receive the letter about the life certificate in your digital mailbox.

  • Have you received a letter about life certificate for 2025, you must submit the life certificate, so Udbetaling Danmark has it no later than 31 August 2025.

If you are a power of attorney holder for a pensioner abroad, you will receive an informational letter, but it is the pensioner themselves who must report the life certificate here on borger.dk using MitID

How to

  • Click ‘Start’
  • Log in with MitID (a Danish digital signature)
  • Confirm that you are alive

You will receive a receipt when Udbetaling Danmark has received your confirmation.

Udbetaling Danmark International Pension passes on your completed life certificate to the following authorities if you receive benefits from one or more of the following: ATP Livslang Pension, Arbejdsmarkedets Erhvervssikring and/or Udbetaling Danmark Tjenestemandspension. This means you only have to confirm you are alive once.
