The Land Register (in Danish: Tingbogen) is a public register which records certain rights to real property, cooperative housing, chattels, vehicles and the like.

Your right to real property in Denmark is not secure from the property being sold or subjected to security interests in contravention of your right until you have registered your right (your title deed, mortgage or easement, etc.) with the Land Register.

If you purchase real property in Denmark, you can search for the property in the Land Register to ensure that there are no rights registered on the property that you are not aware of.

The Land Register is divided into rights regarding title (ownership), security interests and easements and covenants.

Documents submitted for registration will be registered in the order received. This means that the relationship between the registered rights holders will be determined by the rights that were registered first.

You access the Land Register at the website www.tinglysning.dk. Type in the property title number or address to retrieve information about the property.

If you perform a search without being logged in, you can only see information about the owner, the value of the property, security interests, easements and covenants. Full access to all information on the property requires that you log in using the Danish digital eID, MitID.

As an alternative, you can order a certificate from the Land Register for the property from the Registration Court by using the contact form:
