If you are
covered by the Danish Repatriation Act and you meet a number of conditions, you
may be entitled to receive an ongoing monthly benefit called reintegration
assistance.
If you want
to know more about reintegration assistance, you must contact the Danish
Refugee Council or your municipality of residence.
If you live
abroad and receive reintegration assistance, you must confirm once a year that
you are alive and that you are still entitled to receive your reintegration
assistance.
In
addition, you must complete a declaration each year providing information about
your marital status, income, and assets. If you are married, Udbetaling Danmark
will also require a declaration of your spouse’s income and assets. Udbetaling
Danmark uses this information to calculate and pay your reintegration
assistance.
You will
therefore receive a letter from Udbetaling Danmark every year, asking you to complete
the declarations and confirm that you are alive before the date stated in the
letter. If you have MitID, you will receive the letter in Digital Post.
If you live
abroad and receive reintegration assistance, you must submit a reintegration life
certificate and a declaration of cohabitation, income, and assets to Udbetaling
Danmark.
You should
only submit the life certificate and declaration if you have received a letter
from Udbetaling Danmark.

If someone
else is going to help you with your reintegration assistance and repatriation
assistance, you must first give that person power of attorney for the contact
with Udbetaling Danmark. This also applies even if you live together and the
other person just needs to talk to Udbetaling Danmark about your case.
For
example, you can give power of attorney to someone you live with, a family
member or a friend. With a power of attorney, you give the person permission to
act on your behalf, e.g. to discuss your case, get information about your case
or take over full responsibility for handling the case.

power of attorney
If the
person who wants to give power of attorney does not have MitID, you can make a
written power of attorney by completing a power of attorney form. Once the
person has signed the power of attorney, you as a relative can help submit it
digitally to Udbetaling Danmark by using your own MitID.
