According to article 13 in the General Data Protection Regulation, we are obligated to inform you when we process your personal data.

The Ministry of Finance has appointed a Data Protection Officer, who advise on the data protection rules within the Ministry of Finance. The purpose of the Data Protection Officer is to support the Ministry of Finance’s compliance with the rules on the processing of personal data.

The Data Protection Officer is able to guide you on your rights in connection with the processing of your personal data within the Ministry of Finance. If you wish to contact the Data Protection Officer through email, you are kindly asked not to attach your national identification number or other sensitive data / confidential data. The Data Protection Officer is called Databeskyttelsesrådgiveren in Danish.

We process your personal data with the following purposes:

  • Your personal information is processed for the purpose of being able to provide support in connection with the use of lifeindenmark.dk. Support is provided via email, telephone, contact form and screen sharing (browser-assist).

The legal basis for our processing of your personal data follows from:

  • General Data Protection Regulation, article 6.1, letter e) public exercise of authority in connection with support via email, telephone and contact form
  • General Data Protection Regulation, article 6.1, letter a) consent in connection with screen sharing (browser-assist).

We process the following categories of personal data:

  • Personal data (GDPR article 6)
  • National identification number.

We process the personal information that you provide in connection with the support. In connection with screen sharing, the support employee will be able to see the personal information that may appear on the page where you need support.

Name and national identification number will be processed when you log-on with MitID. Name and eID identify number will be processed when you log-on with eID. 

We transmit your personal data to the following recipients:

  • We transmit your personal data to the Agency for Digital Government's data processors, who assist with the operation and administration of our IT systems.
  • We try to forward all emails that have been incorrectly sent to lifeindenmark.dk to the appropriate public sector authority.
  • In the telephone system, call data are deleted after 3 months.
  • If you consent, the phone call is recorded and stored for 30 days and then deleted. 
  • Data from customer satisfaction surveys including comments, length of calls, queue selection, recall and waiting time are stored in anonymised form for up to 5 years.
  • The video sharing tool saves video sessions for 3 months.
  • All emails are stored for 6 months and then deleted.
  • All emails that the lifeindenmark.borger.dk service centre forwards to another public sector authority are archived and saved. Any complaints will also be archived and saved.
  • When you log-on with MitID your name and national identification number will be stored as long as you are logged in and it will be deleted when you log off or at latest after 24 hours.
  • If you log-on with eID we will process and store your name and eID identify number as long as you are logged in and it will be deleted when you log off or at latest after 24 hours.

You have the right to withdraw your consent at any time, which you may have given in connection with the support employee looking at your screen. You can do this by contacting us

If you choose to withdraw your consent, it does not affect the legality of our processing of your personal data on the basis of your previously given consent and up to the time of the withdrawal. Therefore, if you withdraw your consent, it will only take effect from this time.

According to the General Data Protection Regulation, you have rights in connection with our processing of your personal data.

Right of access by the data subject

You have the right to gain insight into the data we process about you, as well as some additional information.

Right to rectification

You have the right to have incorrect information corrected.

Right to erasure

In specific situations, you have the right to have your information erased before our general deadline for erasure comes into force.

Right to restriction of processing

In certain situations, you will have the right to have the processing of your personal data restricted. If you have the right to have the processing restricted, we will in the future only process your information – except for storage – with your consent or for the purposes of enforcing or defending legal claims, or for the protection of a person or important public interest.

Right to object

In certain situations, you will have the right to object to our otherwise legal processing of your personal data.

Right to data portability

In certain situations, you will have the right to receive your personal data in a structured, commonly-used and machine-readable format, and to have this personal data transferred from one data controller to another without hindrance.
