Applying for a contribution in relation to birth, maternity leave and naming
If you, as parents, are not living together at the time of birth, you, as the mother, have the option of having the other parent cover part of your expenses in relation to the birth, and the naming of the child, including baptism, and your maintenance 2 months before and 1 month after the birth (maternity leave contribution). The contributions are a lump sum which amount to DKK 942 (2024) for the birth contribution, DKK 1,370 (2024) for the naming contribution, and DKK 1,640 (2024) per month for the maternity leave contribution
You and the child's other parent may yourselves come to an agreement on the birth contribution. You do not have to involve the Agency of Family Law in the agreement. If you are unable to agree, you can lodge an application for contributions with the Agency of Family Law.
How to
You must complete, sign with MitID, and submit the application digitally.
When you have completed the application, signed by MitID, the case will be opened at the Agency of Family Law.
Once you have completed and submitted the application, it may take up to 24 hours before you receive a receipt in Digital Post.
