Raising a fatherhood or co-motherhood case
A man who has had a sexual relationship with the mother during the period in which she became pregnant generally has the right to have a test to establish whether he is the child's father.
A woman who gives consent to being the child's co-mother generally has the right to have a test to establish that she is the child's co-mother.
You may raise a fatherhood or co-motherhood case within 6 months of the child's birth.
How to
You must complete, sign with MitID, and submit the application digitally.
You must have the following information and proof ready when completing the form:
- Name and preferably CPR number of the mother and the child.
When you have completed the application signed by MitID, the case will be opened at the Agency of Family Law.
Once you have completed and submitted the application, it may take up to 24 hours before you receive a receipt in Digital Post.
