If you are a Nordic citizen and live in one of the following municipalities, you can apply for the CPR number at ICS North: Aalborg, Brønderslev, Jammerbugt, Rebild, Læsø, Mariagerfjord, Frederikshavn or Hjørring.
Booking in advance is necessary.
You will normally get a document with your CPR number and the contact points to your family doctor (GP) the same day you apply in ICS North. The yellow health insurance card will be sent by post within 14 days.
It is also possible to apply for the CPR number at the Citizen Service of your residence municipality. The Citizen Service is called Borgerservice in Danish. Please check the municipality website for addresses and opening hours.
Things to remember when you apply for a CPR number
A permanent address in Denmark is mandatory in order to be able to apply for a CPR number. The minimum residing period needed for a permanent address is 1 month.
Health insurance card
Your health insurance card, also called yellow card, is ordered as a part of the CPR number process. Within 30 days you can expect to receive the card. Please make sure to have the correct name on your mailbox otherwise the card will not be delivered to your postal address.
