Everyone who lives in Denmark is required to have a civil registration number called a CPR number. You can apply for CPR registration if you plan to stay in Denmark for more than 3 consecutive months.
You can apply for CPR registration if you have received your EU residence document at the same day at ICS Esbjerg and you are a resident in the municipality of Esbjerg, Billund, Fanø, Kolding, Varde or Vejle.
In order to book an appointment at the Citizen Service in Esbjerg – to obtain Danish CPR registration and health insurance card, please book at the SIRI office.
If you live in another municipality than stated above, you need to apply for CPR registration at the local Citizen Service in your residence municipality. You need to book an appointment online with the Citizen Service in Esbjerg before visiting Esbjerg Kommune, Borgerservice, Torvegade 74, 6700 Esbjerg.
Things to remember when you apply for CPR registration
A permanent address in Denmark is mandatory in order to be able to apply for CPR registration. The minimum residing period needed for a permanent address at ICS Esbjerg is 3 months.
Order health insurance card
Your health insurance card, also called yellow card, is ordered as a part of the CPR registration process. Within 30 days you can expect to receive the card. Please make sure to have the correct name on your mailbox otherwise the card will not be delivered to your postal address.
