Test and dialogue-tool for messages

National testing in primary and secondary school comes into effect from 2026/27. 

The tests will be carried out in:

• Danish (literacy performance) in 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 6th and 8th grade.
• Mathematics in form levels 2nd, 4th, 6th and 8th grade.

The purpose of the tests is to give teachers and parents an insight into the individual pupils’ academic skills, in the specific areas of literacy and mathematics, covered by the tests.

"Meddelelsesbogen" is a dialogue-tool for messages between the school, parents and pupils. It is mandatory in primary and secondary school. The purpose is to support a basis for constructive dialogue between the student, parents and school to work together on the next steps in the student's learning and well-being.

The tool consists of focal points the educational staff deem to be essential to support the pupils academic and cross-curricular development. These points must be based on the knowledge of the educational staff and current observations of the pupil.

The focus points should be practical and concrete. It is the school's pedagogical staff who continuously select the focus points and discuss with pupils and parents what is most important to focus on in the student's development.

From the 2022/23 school year, this dialogue-tool has replaced the student plan.

If you have lost your leaving/examination certificate from a primary and lower-secondary school, you can obtain a copy by using the self-service solution.

You can obtain a copy only if the leaving/examination certificate is from after 2008/09, and has been digitally archived by the school in question. If that is not so, contact the school.

If you wish to appeal the result of the test or the information in a student plan, you can contact the school principal.
