A school board consists of at least two representatives of the teaching staff and other staff, at least two representatives of the pupils and a majority of representatives of parents.
If you have a child who is going to attend or is already attending the school, you can stand as a parent representative. You do not need professional expertise on school issues to stand.
Parent representatives are elected for four years at a time, while the pupil and staff representatives are usually only elected for one year at a time.
